Moon rituals are a magical way to connect with the natural cycles of life and nature. New moons remind us to check in with the parts of ourselves that are expanding and the areas of our lives that are experiencing new beginnings. In yogic philosophy, one big obstacle to letting go of suffering is what lives in our unconsciousness. As the new moon begins in darkness, we can use Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to explore the parts of us that are in the shadows to bring us into our own light.
June’s New Moon is named for the time of the year when the male deer are showing off their impressive antlers and also known as the Thunder Moon because of the hum of the frequent afternoon thunderstorms in early summer. The intensity that is brought to us with this new moon invites us to celebrate ripeness and rest - reconnecting with nature's cycles as routines may shift with the new season. Join Carrie in coming together as a community in a ritual of rest as we calm the storms, restore the body, and set some intentions for the next phase.
