The Snow Moon, named for the time with the largest amount of snowfall in the northern hemisphere and some of the coldest days. February’s moon is also known as the Storm moon describing what can be a time of harsh weather conditions. This cycle invites us to linger in the pause as we continue to nourish our roots, as Spring will be arriving soon.
At this gathering, we will align with the energy of this new moon as a community by weaving the themes into a practice of qi gong, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. Moon rituals are a magical way to connect with the natural cycles of life and nature.
New moons remind us to check in with the parts of ourselves that are expanding and the areas of our lives that are experiencing new beginnings. In yogic philosophy, one big obstacle to letting go of suffering is what lives in our unconsciousness. As the new moon begins in darkness, we can use Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to explore the parts of us that are in the shadows to bring us into our own light.
No previous yoga experience required.
