“My darling, I see that you are suffering, and I’m here.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
A poem inspired by:
my daily guided breathwork with Alicia Barmon.
Words by Thich Nhat Hanh “My darling, I see that you are suffering, and I’m here.”
Witnessing all the parts of this season - this season of grief, this season of war, this season of beauty, this season when the tree goddess paints the mother trees with the most bright, vibrant, radiant colors, the season of the leaves teaching us to let go, the season of coming back home to who I really am.
Parts
Calling all the parts in - the ones that have been forgotten, been lost, the parts that feel unlovable, the parts that feel unworthy, the parts that desire to control, the parts that desire pleasure, the parts that need to be perfect, the parts that don’t know what they need, the parts that reach and regulate, the parts that freeze and fawn.
Calling them all in to join the softness present on the altar of my heart.
Here in my heart - they are held, seen, felt, loved.
They are together, they are in community, they are my sangha.
They belong.
An offering to my parts:
Tears of sadness
Growls of anger
Fits of rage
Shakes of fear
Sighs of longing
A smile of kindness
A deep bow of gratitude
A deep breath of compassion
A hug of love
There’s space for all the suffering, the softening, and the blessings.
