“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.
Healing is an act of communion.”-Bell Hooks
There's a lot to notice in these images of this local space for self-care and community care… a space where you’re invited to show up however you are and to be held in a space so you can soften into this project of being a human… so you can move, breathe, and rest like you love yourself!
There are also a lot of things you may NOT be able to not observe from these pictures.
You may notice the warmth of the sunlight shining down from the skylight in the yoga room. You may notice the beautiful art by Yogamour studio members that paints the walls of this sacred space . And of course, how could you miss the plethora of props and interesting things we use to offer care to our bodies?
Can you feel the joy that radiates from me as I prepare to hold space for 12 souls to come together in a circle with their tender human hearts, beautiful bodies, and shining spirits?
What is not pictured here is the tears that seeped out of the eyes of the women that showed courage in sharing their vulnerability with a group of strangers. You can’t see the grandmother and granddaughter that cherished their day together bonding over a shared love for yoga.
Not pictured here are the two mother-daughter pairs that had a space and a community for the afternoon to come back home to their yoga practice and step out of their role as a caretaker.
Not pictured here is the person who took their first smooth inhalation through their nose after months of recovering from nasal surgery and left crying tears of joy.
What you can’t see in these pictures is the impact that this day had on many humans’ nervous systems. The slow gentle softening of the breaths, the hearts, and the mind of 12 humans. And I can only imagine the the rippling vibrations that journeyed beyond those that attended.
I hold these retreats at least once per season! Won’t you join me!? Or want to getaway for a whole weekend - check out this retreat in July!
